Terms of service

Working draft. This is a starting-point set of terms, written in plain English for a UK-incorporated business. It has not yet been reviewed by a solicitor. Please have it reviewed before relying on it for limitations of liability or governing-law clauses in production.

These terms (“Terms”) form a binding agreement between you and Landed(“we”, “us”, “our”) when you use landed.guide, our AI tools, our guides, the waitlist, the dashboard, or our strategy sessions. By using any of these services, you agree to these Terms.

These Terms also incorporate our Privacy Policy by reference.

1. Who we are

Landed is a UK-based platform helping tech and consulting professionals plan and execute their move from the UK to the UAE. For the avoidance of doubt, Landed is not a tax adviser, legal adviser, regulated financial adviser, immigration adviser, or insurance adviser. Where you need that kind of advice, we encourage you to engage an appropriately regulated professional in the UK or UAE.

2. Your account

Some features (saved tool runs, the dashboard, paid plans) require a Landed account. You sign in with a magic link to your email address. You are responsible for keeping access to that email account secure. We may suspend or close accounts that violate these Terms, or where required by law.

3. The AI tools

Our AI tools (Double Leap Planner, CV Checker, CV Rewriter, Outreach Engine, Email Drafts, and others) generate outputs based on the inputs you provide and on UK-to-UAE-specific prompt engineering we've built around the Anthropic Claude model.

Important. AI-generated outputs:

  • Are guidance, not advice. They are not a substitute for advice from a qualified UK tax adviser, solicitor, immigration adviser, financial adviser, or similar professional.
  • May contain errors, omissions, or out-of-date information (tax rates change, visa rules change, school fees change). Always verify a numerical or regulatory output against a primary source before acting on it.
  • Reflect the inputs you provide. If your inputs are incomplete or inaccurate, the output will reflect those limitations.
  • Are produced by a third-party AI model (Anthropic Claude). We do not guarantee that two runs with the same input produce identical outputs.

You are responsible for any decisions you make based on AI outputs. Where the stakes are high (tax, legal, immigration, financial), please consult a regulated professional.

4. Long-form guides and downloads

The guides on this site, including the downloadable PDFs, are provided for general information. They reflect our best understanding at the time of writing but may go stale. The same caveats as the AI tools apply: guidance, not regulated advice.

Guides remain our intellectual property. You are welcome to share excerpts (with attribution) and to print downloaded PDFs for personal use. Republishing the full text on another website, in a paid product, or in a commercial training corpus is not permitted without prior written consent.

5. Strategy sessions

Strategy sessions are 1-on-1 calls with the Landed team or with named partner consultants. They are conversations and context-sharing, not regulated advice. Where a session involves a partner who is themselves regulated (e.g. a chartered tax adviser), that partner's engagement is governed by a separate engagement letter that takes precedence over these Terms for that engagement.

Bookings can be rescheduled up to 24 hours before the session. Cancellations within 24 hours forfeit the session fee unless we agree otherwise.

6. Membership and one-off purchases

We offer subscription memberships (Member, Pro) and one-off packs (Exit Pack, CV Rewrite, Family Pack, Career Pack). All pricing is shown on the pricing section. Prices are in GBP and exclusive of any applicable VAT (if any) — VAT treatment depends on your jurisdiction and we will display it at checkout where applicable.

Subscriptions renew monthly until cancelled. You can cancel at any time from the customer portal accessible via your account; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. One-off packs do not auto-renew.

Refunds. Under UK consumer law (Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013), digital content purchases normally lose the right to a 14-day cooling-off period once you start consuming the content. We will consider refund requests on a case-by-case basis where the service has materially failed to perform as described. Email us at support@landed.guide.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Reverse-engineer, scrape, or extract our prompts, model outputs, or guide content for the purpose of training another AI model
  • Resell access to the AI tools or strategy sessions
  • Submit information you do not have the right to share (e.g. third-party CVs without their consent)
  • Use the service to generate harassing, defamatory, fraudulent, or illegal content
  • Disrupt the service, abuse rate limits, or attempt to circumvent security

We may suspend access if we reasonably believe you are breaching these rules.

8. Your content and licence

When you submit content to the AI tools (CV text, planner inputs, contact lists, etc.), you retain ownership of that content. You grant us a limited licence to process it for the purpose of providing the service to you, including transmitting it to our AI provider (Anthropic) for the duration of the request.

We do not use your content to train AI models. We do not share your content with third parties except the processors listed in our Privacy Policy.

9. Our content and intellectual property

The website, the brand, the prompts, the guides, the tools, the design system, and the source code are owned by Landed (or licensed to us). You may not copy, modify, or redistribute them except as expressly permitted by these Terms or by law.

10. Service availability

We aim to keep the service available, but we don't guarantee uninterrupted operation. Hosting, third-party APIs, and the public internet sometimes fail. We will make reasonable efforts to restore service quickly. We do not provide a formal SLA on the consumer plans.

11. Liability

Plain-English summary.We're a small team, and the tools and guides are decision support, not regulated advice. To the fullest extent permitted by law:

  • We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses (e.g. business losses, lost profits, lost opportunity) arising from your use of the service
  • Our total liability for direct losses arising under these Terms is capped at the amount you have paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim
  • Nothing in these Terms limits liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that cannot be limited under UK law

12. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes will be brought before the courts of England and Wales, except that consumers resident outside England and Wales retain the right to bring a claim in the courts of their habitual residence where mandatory local law so provides.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will update the “Last updated” date and (for material changes) email registered users where reasonably possible. Continued use after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
