International Free Zone Authority

Often called just IFZA.

The aggressive-pricing challenger. Dubai-based, covers most general activities, no office required for basic tiers.

IFZA is one of the newer Dubai freezones, relocated to Dubai Silicon Oasis. Aggressive pricing (entry licences from AED 12,500) and no physical office requirement at basic tiers — you can operate entirely remote — have made it popular with solo consultants, freelancers, and remote-first businesses.

Licence categories are broad (the 'commercial' or 'service' licence covers most tech consulting, e-commerce, and advisory work). Trade-offs vs DMCC: less brand cachet, fewer add-on services, sometimes slower administrative processing. For pure cost-minimisation with a legitimate Dubai address, IFZA is usually the winner.

Best for
  • Solo tech consultants and freelancers
  • Remote-first businesses needing UAE residency
  • Budget-conscious first-time setups
Things to consider
  • Less brand cachet than DMCC — matters for enterprise clients
  • Some banks are more cautious about opening accounts for IFZA-registered companies
